The Gospel Verse was originally named something else and started out as a company for original bible verse designs, before one fateful prayer changed the course of its history. During the first month of this initial business, our founder received this encouragement from the Lord: “Treat your customers with dignity—they are image bearers”. This seedling of a thought then grew into a literal desire to “make disciples of all nations”. One night in prayer, our founder was wrestling with the notion that it may be time to give up the business. (And at this point, only one purchase was made in the last two months!) Then, God led — whispering an idea that first terrified our founder. After much more wrestling (ie. ”How is this going to happen? What would this even look like? I don’t think I can even do this. Let it be Your idea and not mine!”), our founder plunged into the cold water of entrepreneurship again, reworking the idea until it finally came to light — journals that would encourage intimacy with Jesus and a love for Him.
